Christie Brinkley's first performance as Roxie Hart in Chicago has been shifted by four days. The supermodel will now begin her limited engagement at the Ambassador Theatre on April 8 instead of April 4, as previously scheduled. The delay is attributed to a minor muscle injury Brinkley suffered earlier this week, forcing her to miss three days of rehearsal.
“I’m having the time of my life,” Brinkley recently told Broadway.com about her rehearsal process. “I’m just having so much fun.”
Brinkley will be joined onstage by Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Mama Morton.
Chicago recently became Broadway's fifth longest running show in history. The revival opened on November 14, 1996, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, earning six Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, before moving to Shubert Theatre and later the Ambassador Theatre.
